Barton-le-Clay
Just off the A6 is the Bedfordshire village of Barton-le-Clay surrounded by the Roads of Bedford Road to the north, Hexton Road to the east, Luton Road to the south and Sharpenhoe Road to the west. As Chartered Surveyors we often carry out building surveys in these villages and others which surround it including the villages of Sharpenhoe to the west, Silsoe to the north, Pegsdon to the east and Streatley to the south.
The village is noted for the beautiful Springs tucked at the base of the Barton Hills where you can relax taking a walk admiring the idyllic countryside with the meandering stream running through this favourite spot of locals and tourists.
The villages boasts a Village Hall, Doctors Surgery, Bank, Chemist, Co-op store, Post Office, Opticians, Ramsey Lower School (with adjacent Mother and Toddler Group, Pre-school and Breakfast and After School Club) and Arnold Middle School as well as The Royal Oak, The Waggon and Horses and The Bull public houses. The Old Coach and Horses pub in 2010 changed hands now trading as a Thai restaurant and the Old School House in the High Street today is an Indian Restaurant. There is also an Italian restaurant and coffee shop and Chinese take away, not to mention a successful Beauty Salon, complete with fish spa. The village also has a cat clinic, vets and v eterinary hospital.
The village grew in size with a large housing development built in the 1960s/70s and again grew after a bypass was built taking the busy A6 Luton/Bedford road away from the High Street with the infill allowing further development of 2, 3 and 4 bedroom houses built by Taylor Wimpey, David Wilson Homes, Twigden and Barrett Homes during the 1990s/2000s expanding the village and attracting new residents to this popular village. The village is in easy reach of Luton and Bedford as well as being close to the M1 and not far from the M25 and A1 making it a popular Bedfordshire village.

All our survey contain lots of images, clearly showing any problems that we have identified at the property such as woodworm, rising damp or cracking to the walls. We also use sketches in our survey which are aimed at helping you to understand how certain areas are constructed or to help show more clearly a problem that we have identified.
