We carry out residential structural surveys and commercial surveys in Brough. Brough is a town which is situated in East Riding of Yorkshire.
Brough is on the north bank of the Humber River and is a small town best known for the BAe Factory that was built here in 1916 because of the river being nearby which allows seaplanes to land and take off. One of the most famous planes it has produced is the Harrier Jump Jet which was an amazing piece of technology.
Broughs history does go back further than this with Bronze Age finds and evidence of the Romans who used the town as a river port and fortress. They even built roads to York and Newcastle-upon-Tyne (as it known today).
The piece of history that Brough is most proud of is that the highwayman and murderer Dick Turpin hid in the town under an assumed name for a few years when he had out stayed his welcome in the south! While here he was to the non suspecting a respectable livestock dealer but when drunk one evening he gave himself away as to the fact that he stole his stock by shooting a prize cockerel, thus drawing attention to himself. Making this an interesting place to visit, as our team of Structural Engineers and Surveyors found when they visited here to conduct Engineer Reports and Surveys.
Today Brough has good rail links to the major towns in the area and is close to the A63 which leads the motorway the M62, making this a great place for commuters.
If you are planning to book a building survey on a property you are purchasing in Brough or the surrounding area then we would like to assure you that we always send a suitably qualified and experienced surveyor to carry out the job. This ensures that you get expert advice on any issues that we may find with the property we are surveying. All our surveyors are members of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors - RICS - and are Independent Building Surveyors. Being 'independent' means that they are working for you and you alone; they do not work for a mortgage company or an estate agents, so they have your best interests at heart.
All our survey contain lots of images, clearly showing any problems that we have identified at the property such as woodworm, rising damp or cracking to the walls. We also use sketches in our survey which are aimed at helping you to understand how certain areas are constructed or to help show more clearly a problem that we have identified. You will also find lots of definitions of any building terminology that we may use in our survey, as we firmly believe in 'Plain English' and really want you to fully understand what we are saying in the survey report.
