We carry out residential structural surveys and commercial surveys in Cheam. Cheam is a town which is situated in Sutton.
Cheam in the borough of Sutton is made up of three areas, North Cheam, South Cheam and Cheam Village . North Cheam is a residential area with shopping facilities, South Cheam is mainly residential and the quaint Cheam Village is where you will find some lovely unique shops, restaurants and pubs.
Parkside and Holmwood Road on the Nonsuch Estate are places we have carried out building surveys.
Cheam has many historic buildings and is home to ‘ Whitehall ', a stunning Tudor house built around 1500 in Cheam Village which features a medieval pottery display and art gallery. The house also has a lovely tea room selling gorgeous home-made cakes and is a place we have visited many times when surveying properties in the area.
‘Nonsuch Park' is a large ‘green' space in Cheam and was once home to ‘ Nonsuch Palace '. King Henry VIII started to build the palace around 1538. Unfortunately the king died before the palace was completed. The Palace was passed down through the Royal family and came to eventually be the property of a Lady Castlemaine who had the palace pulled down around 1682 to pay off gambling debts. Today only remnants of the palace remain.
Cheam is also home to the lovely Seears Park and Cheam Park.
If you are planning to book a building survey on a property you are purchasing in Cheam or the surrounding area then we would like to assure you that we always send a suitably qualified and experienced surveyor to carry out the job. This ensures that you get expert advice on any issues that we may find with the property we are surveying. All our surveyors are members of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors - RICS - and are Independent Building Surveyors. Being 'independent' means that they are working for you and you alone; they do not work for a mortgage company or an estate agents, so they have your best interests at heart.
All our survey contain lots of images, clearly showing any problems that we have identified at the property such as woodworm, rising damp or cracking to the walls. We also use sketches in our survey which are aimed at helping you to understand how certain areas are constructed or to help show more clearly a problem that we have identified. You will also find lots of definitions of any building terminology that we may use in our survey, as we firmly believe in 'Plain English' and really want you to fully understand what we are saying in the survey report.
