Chiswick House

Chiswick House is a Palladian villa in Burlington Lane which was built in the early 1700s and is a wonderful example of 18 th century British architecture. The interior was decorated by William Kent.

The 80 acre grounds are classical in design and include nature trails and Italian gardens.

The nearby summer home of artist William Hogarth contains many examples of his paintings and engravings.

Hogarth House

This house was built around 1715 and was purchased by William Hogarth in 1749 as a second home where he and his wife spent most of the summer months; he is said to have called the house ‘his little country box'.

Over the years the house became derelict and was restored in 1901 and was opened as a Hogarth museum in 1904.

Melbourne House

Melbourne House located in South Parade was one of three Georgian houses built in 1793 by John Bedford. Melbourne House is the only one of the three houses left almost as it was then.

Bedford Park

A Bedford park Festival has taken place on Acton Green in Bedford Park each year since 1967 and takes the format of a ‘Green Day' weekend with all kinds of stalls including crafts, books, bric-a-brac and food. Live music is placed and there is a funfair and competitions, tournaments and exhibitions, which often take place in some of the houses in Bedford Park .
