St Nicholas Church in Dereham is the site of the natural springs that according to legend (so our Chartered Surveyors were told) appeared after the body of St Withburga was stolen from her grave by the Abbot of Ely.

Bishops Bonners Cottage is the oldest building in Dereham and today is a museum run by volunteers from the Dereham Antiquarian Society. It dates from the 1500's with a timber frame and constructed in brick, flint, and wattle and daub. Bishop Bonner was one of the most hated men in Tudor England after sentencing and then burning to death over 200 heretics. Also worth a visit is the MNR (Mid-Norfolk-Railway). This is now a heritage railway with steam and diesel trains which run between Dereham and Wymondham.
