We carry out residential structural survey and commercial survey in Downham Market. Downham Market is a town which is situated in Norfolk.
Over the years our chartered surveyors at 1 st Associated have been frequent visitors to the town of Downham Market and have provided its residents with surveys that range from home buyer reports to structural surveys and schedule of conditions
Downham market is an ancient market town situated on the A10 on the way to Kings Lynn. Originally a small Saxon settlement over 2000 years ago it is now a thriving community with outdoor markets two days a week on a Friday and Saturday.
When in the area our surveyors enjoy seeing the fantastic historic buildings in the town including the Town Hall clad in local Carrstone (sandstone with iron ore content) and built to celebrate Queen Victoria 's jubilee in 1887. The whole town used to be known as the gingerbread town because of the colouring of the Carrstone used to build many of its buildings
The stunning gothic black and white wrought iron town clock is also worth seeing as are the Castle and Crown hotels both of which are now listed buildings. The oldest building in the town is the Church dedicated to St Edmund. These beautiful buildings are one of our Chartered Surveyors favourite things about Downham Market. The town sign also shows the connection to St Edmund (once King of East Anglia). If you visit the heritage centre you can find out more about the towns history and its people.
There are plenty of other interesting things to do in Downham including walks along the river and river cruises. Guided tours around the town are also available and are known as twalks (a walk with a talk).
Shopaholics are well provided for in Downham Market as there is a wonderful range of shops from the larger supermarkets, small independent boutiques to the craft and collectibles market that has just been added to the Saturday market.
As Chartered Surveyors we carry out Building Surveys and Home Buyer Reports on all types of property in Downham Market such as the old character properties in Bridge Road and Mill Lane to brand new homes such as those at Hayfields in Bennett Street.
If you are planning to book a building survey on a property you are purchasing in Downham Market or the surrounding area then we would like to assure you that we always send a suitably qualified and experienced surveyor to carry out the job. This ensures that you get expert advice on any issues that we may find with the property we are surveying. All our surveyors are members of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors - RICS - and are Independent Chartered Building Surveyors. Being 'independent' means that they are working for you and you alone; they do not work for a mortgage company or an estate agents, so they have your best interests at heart.
All our survey contain lots of images, clearly showing any problems that we have identified at the property such as woodworm, rising damp or cracking to the walls. We also use sketches in our survey which are aimed at helping you to understand how certain areas are constructed or to help show more clearly a problem that we have identified. You will also find lots of definitions of any building terminology that we may use in our survey, as we firmly believe in 'Plain English' and really want you to fully understand what we are saying in the survey report.
