Fridaythorpe is one of the highest villages in the Wolds, standing at 500 feet above sea level providing a fantastic view on a clear day. With the horse shoe of houses aptly named “Wolds View” because the beautiful view of Yorkshire they provide it is a spectacular spot to visit. It is easy to access as the Driffield to York road, the busy A166, passes through the village.
In the village there is a butchers' shop, a garage which provides fuel and has a shop and newsagents attached. There is the Manor House Inn and Restaurant, which has been modernised extensively and has fantastic catering and accommodation. There is a new housing estate that was built in 2001, sadly replacing the Cross Keys Pub which was demolished to make way for this but it has meant that we as chartered surveyors have been able to carry out residential building surveys in the area.
