We carry out residential structural survey and commercial survey in Gatwick. Gatwick is a town which is situated in Surrey.
London Gatwick Airport can be found close to junction 9 and 10 of the M23 and is partly circled by the A23 to the east. The airport has Reigate to the north, Crawley to the south, Guildford to the west and East Grinstead to the east with villages such as Horley and Charlwood close by.
The village of Gatwick can be traced back to 1241 being owned then by Richard de Warwick who gave the area to John de Gatwick and his heirs. Over the following years the land was owned by several generations of de Gatwicks then subsequently several other families until in 1890 land was acquired by Gatwick Race Course Company who also opened a railway station on the land. Later in the 1930s the area grew as a flying club with its first public licence granted by The Air Ministry in 1934 with an airport eventually opening in 1958. Since then Gatwick grew in size until reaching its large dimension today which incorporates the South Terminal and North Terminal with passenger numbers ever increasing .
Virgin Atlantic Airways have their offices and training centre nearby in Crawley and are one of the many airlines that fly in and out of this hectic airport.
Close by on Beehive Ring Road in Crawley is The Beehive which was previously the Combined Terminal and Control Tower built around 1936 used as offices today but at the time was the first circular airport passenger terminal. The building is Grade II listed and shows how when designed the architects and owners wished to put passenger ease at the forefront of the design.
If you are planning to book a building survey on a property you are purchasing in Gatwick or the surrounding area then we would like to assure you that we always send a suitably qualified and experienced surveyor to carry out the job. This ensures that you get expert advice on any issues that we may find with the property we are surveying. All our surveyors are members of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors - RICS - and are Independent Surveyors. Being 'independent' means that they are working for you and you alone; they do not work for a mortgage company or an estate agents, so they have your best interests at heart.
All our surveys contain lots of images, clearly showing any problems that we have identified at the property such as woodworm, rising damp or cracking to the walls. We also use sketches in our survey which are aimed at helping you to understand how certain areas are constructed or to help show more clearly a problem that we have identified. You will also find lots of definitions of any building terminology that we may use in our survey, as we firmly believe in 'Plain English' and really want you to fully understand what we are saying in the survey report.
