We carry out residential structural survey and commercial survey in Gorleston. Gorleston is a town which is situated in Norfolk.
Gorleston-on-Sea is a town on the East coast of Norfolk and is part of the Great Yarmouth district that as Surveyors we are often commissioned to carry out Residential and Commercial Building Surveys in. It is also very close to Lowestoft in Suffolk .
Historically Gorleston was mainly a fishing and agricultural town and this continued early into the 20 th century when it became one of East Norfolk 's favourite holiday destinations. Londoners would arrive by train and paddle steamer to enjoy the miles of sandy beaches and stroll along the promenade. The wooden pier was also a favourite with the early holidaymakers. The pier had cosies (small shelters) built into the side where people could just sit and relax or do some fishing. Sadly this pier had to be replaced in the 1960's with a concrete one which is still standing today.
Today Gorleston still has many reasons to visit including the safe blue flag beach with children's area and also the yacht pond (one of the last remaining in the country).
1st Associated Surveyors always enjoy their time spent in this area of Norfolk providing Home Surveys for the local community and were delighted to see some of the old buildings from Gorlestons past have been restored and maintained. The Edwardian Pavilion Theatre built in 1901 is now a listed building and is open all year round to the public.
The red brick lighthouse built in 1878 is also a listed building and is one of our Surveyors favourite buildings in Gorleston and although it still operates it is mainly to help the supply ships to the rigs in and out of the River Yare.
Other things Gorleston has to offer include a broad range of shops, cafes and restaurants as well as the traditional seaside activities such as amusement arcades, bingo halls and the newly built band stand.
Fresh Fish and chips on the beach is real treat for our Surveyors at the end of a hard day carrying out Building Surveys both residential and commercial.
If you are planning to book a building survey on a property you are purchasing in Gorleston or the surrounding area then we would like to assure you that we always send a suitably qualified and experienced surveyor to carry out the job. This ensures that you get expert advice on any issues that we may find with the property we are surveying. All our surveyors are members of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors - RICS - and are Independent Building Surveyors. Being 'independent' means that they are working for you and you alone; they do not work for a mortgage company or an estate agents, so they have your best interests at heart.
All our survey contain lots of images, clearly showing any problems that we have identified at the property such as woodworm, rising damp or cracking to the walls. We also use sketches in our survey which are aimed at helping you to understand how certain areas are constructed or to help show more clearly a problem that we have identified. You will also find lots of definitions of any building terminology that we may use in our survey, as we firmly believe in 'Plain English' and really want you to fully understand what we are saying in the survey report.
