Surrounded by the towns of Horsebridge to the North, Catsfield to the East, Polegate to the South and Chalvington to the West, is Hailsham which is just off the A22 and A295. There is a Hailsham Pavilion which has comfortable seating and traditional decor, it has been beautifully restored. The Pavilion was officially opened in 1921 and is listed as a Grade II building of historic and architectural interest and one we like to visit if we have time whilst in the area as Chartered Surveyors conducting building surveys. There is a Herstmonceux Castle which has a range of brilliant facilities such as the Tea rooms, Cricket Pavilion and a range of gardens such as the Shakespeare and Rose gardens. It was originally built in the 15th Century and you can have a guided tour of the interior on the castle and can take a stroll around the amazing gardens surrounding the castle. There is also a Knockhatch Adventure Park which is a really good day out which provides many different activities such as snowboard and ski centre which has an amazing 110m dry ski slope, you can also see the different birds of prey as well as go on some rides such as the Barrel ride.
