The Forge Museum at Much Hadham
The Forge Museum is located in Grade II* listed buildings in the village of Much Hadham . In 1811 this is where the Page Family worked as blacksmiths and carried on with this family business until 1983. The exhibits how the crafts of blacksmithing and farriery and how they have evolved. There are also displays about village life including photos and documents and working tools. In the garden you can see an early bee shelter from the 19th century which is rare and also a granary building.
Hartham Common, Hertford

Hertford Castle
The Castle and grounds are situated in the centre of Hertford. Hertford Castle is a Grade I Listed building located next to the River Lee and the flint and stone wall. Although often referred to as a ‘castle' the building still standing is actually the gatehouse, which was turned into a stately home in the 1780s.
King's Meads
Kings Meads, often called ‘The Meads', is a large site which consists of grassland meadows next to the Lee Navigation. The area is set in the Lee Valley between Hertford and Ware.
Mill Green Mill Mill Green Mill is situated near Welwyn Garden City in the hamlet of Mill Green.
It is thought that there may have been a mill on this site since Saxon times. In the Domesday survey of 1086 it is recorded that ‘Hetfelle' (now known as Hatfield) included four mills.
Over the years lots of alterations and repairs have taken place to the mill and a big rebuild is thought to have taken place in the late 1700s. By the early 20 th century traditional milling was not needed any more due to modernisation of the industry and in 1911 Mill Green Mill was closed.
Restoration of the mill finished in 1986 and the mill is now back in working order.
