We carry out residential structural survey and commercial surveys in Holt. Holt is a town which is situated in Norfolk.
Carrying out Building Surveys in the beautiful market town of Holt in North Norfolk is something our Chartered Surveyors always look forward to.
Holt is situated about 20 miles North of Norwich City. The architecture in the town is mainly Georgian as the whole town was rebuilt in the 18 th century after being destroyed by fire. Our Chartered Surveyors noted some beautiful period properties in the High Street and Market Place areas of the town and saw some lovely homes in the Cromer Road and Albert Road areas. There are some beautiful period properties to see in the High Street and Market Place in the town and we have seen some lovely homes in the Cromer Road and Albert Road areas. The original Gresham School , now the pre–preparatory school, located in the centre of town is another interesting building. It was originally the town Manor House but was converted into a Grammar School by Sir John Gresham in 1555.
As Chartered Surveyors the elegant buildings in Holt are of great interest. Today many of the Georgian buildings have been converted for use as businesses including the Barber Shop with its traditional red and white poles and the tea shop named after the Owl from a local legend. The legend says that the Owl was a nuisance in the town but efforts to remove it or kill it always failed. Now the image of an Owl has been adopted by the town and can be seen on the Holt sign and other places throughout the town.
Another thing our Chartered Surveyors saw whilst in Holt is Blind Sam the gas lantern erected to celebrate Queen Victoria 's Jubilee and given this name because it very rarely worked. It originally stood in the market place but is now in Obelisk Plain.
Holt in North Norfolk has a wide selection of independent shops selling goods to interest most people including antiques, books, gifts and art. At Christmas the shops are decorated with lights and Holt is said by some to have the best Christmas light display in Norfolk .
If a bit of exercise and fresh air is required then Holt also has its own Country Park on the outskirts of town. With picnic areas, children's play area and plenty of wildlife to see it is a beautiful place to spend a few hours.
Holt is one of our Chartered Surveyors' favourite destinations to carry out Residential Building Surveys and Home Buyer Reports in and afterwards a visit to Byfords Cafe and Deli for a coffee and a bite to eat is always in order.
If you are planning to book a building survey on a property you are purchasing in the Holt Area or the surrounding area then we would like to assure you that we always send a suitably qualified and experienced surveyor to carry out the job. This ensures that you get expert advice on any issues that we may find with the property we are surveying. All our surveyors are members of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors - RICS - and are Independent Chartered Building Surveyors. Being 'independent' means that they are working for you and you alone; they do not work for a mortgage company or an estate agents, so they have your best interests at heart.
All our survey contain lots of images, clearly showing any problems that we have identified at the property such as woodworm, rising damp or cracking to the walls. We also use sketches in our survey which are aimed at helping you to understand how certain areas are constructed or to help show more clearly a problem that we have identified. You will also find lots of definitions of any building terminology that we may use in our survey, as we firmly believe in 'Plain English' and really want you to fully understand what we are saying in the survey report.
