We carry out residential structural surveys and commercial surveys in Hounslow. There are two possibilities as to the origin of the name Hounslow. The first says it comes from the Anglo Saxon ‘Honeslaw' and means an area of land suitable for hunting, the second says it is from a mound or hill to do with a pagan Anglo Saxon called Hundi.

Hounslow emerged along the sides of the Great Western Road when during the Middle Ages people traveled through the area on horse or foot between London and the West Country, then in the 17 th -19 th century the stagecoach was responsible for the growth of the town.

Hounslow Heath was well known in days gone by for the highwaymen and footpads (who did not have horses) that robbed travelers on the road to and from London during the 17th and 18th centuries. The emergence of rail travel lead to a decline of visitors through Hounslow but when the Great West Road was built, which by-passed the town, in the 1920s this lead to more industries being located along the road, commonly known as the ‘Golden Mile', so jobs created bringing more people into the town. During the 1970s the industries were replaced by offices, again attracting people to the area. During the 1980-1990s the area to the centre of Hounslow was redeveloped.

Today the heart of Hounslow is centred around the high street, which is given over to pedestrians, and the Treaty Centre. The shopping area has a good selection of shops and cafes. 1st Associated Surveyors provide residential and commercial building surveys tailor made to our client's needs; depending upon your property knowledge level we will add additional photos or definitions and sketches to our survey to make sure that you understand the survey and the issues we may bring to your attention.
