We carry out residential structural surveys and commercial surveys in Kingston upon Thames. Kingston has had close links with royalty over the years that date back more than a thousand years. An Anglo Saxon Charter in 838 first records the area and then in 946 King Egbert called it 'the royal town where kings were hallowed'.

Today The Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames is a mainly residential area. It is set out in four neighbourhood areas, the Kingston Town Neighbourhood, the Surbiton Neighbourhood, the Maldens and Coombe Neighbourhood, and the Chessington and Hook Neighbourhood.

Kingston Town Neighbourhood

Kingston has been been situated on the banks of the Thames River for many centuries and was the place where seven Anglo-Saxon kings had their coronation: Edward the Elder, who was the stone of Alfred the Great) in 900AD, Athelstan in 925AD, Edmund I in 939AD, Eadred in 946AD, Eadwig in 946AD, Edward the Martyr in 975AD and Ethelred the Unready in 979AD. The Saxon Coronation Stone, on which tradition says these kings were crowned, is located in Kingston outside the Guildhall council offices by the historic Clattern Bridge and is probably the borough's most notable possession. The stone has a coin from the reign of each king embedded into the base of it.

Relics from the Roman era have also been found in the area.

Today Kingston is well known for its good range of shops.

Surbiton Neighbourhood

The neighbourhood of Surbiton is situated on the Thames river and developed when the railroad arrived in around 1838. Surbiton is a very popular place to live having nice open spaces as well as having a popular shopping centre with a selection of exclusive-type shops along with cafes and restaurants.

Maldens and Coombe Neighbourhood

St John the Baptist Church in Old Malden goes back to the Norman era, but New Malden and Coombe grew saw its biggest development during the Victorian era when the railway arrived. Despite this growth New Malden still has a village ‘feel' about it.

Chessington and Hook Neighbourhood

The Neighbourhood of Chessington and Hook has a good selection of shops set out in a parade-style. This neighbourhood is located near a green belt area of countryside with a nature reserve and the area also includes Tolworth Court Farm, which is the biggest open space in the whole borough. The Chessington World of Adventure is also in this area.

We always recommend that people have a building survey carried out by an Independent Chartered Surveyor. It is laughable to expect that a mortgage owned surveyors will give impartial advice. Call an Independent Chartered Surveyor on 0800 298 5424 for an impartial survey.

We are the only surveying company that we know of that asks the owner / vendor to fill out and sign a questionnaire about the property being surveyed and who also take the time to talk to the owner /vendor in a 'Question and Answer' session whilst at their property to clarify or verify any issues with the property.
