We carry out residential structural survey and commercial survey in Knebworth. Knebworth is a town which is situated in Hertfordshire.
Leave the A1(M) at junction 7 and you will find yourself at Knebworth just south of Stevenage twinned with the French resort of Chatelaillon-Plage. Knebworth House and gardens dominate the area with the magnificent house being in the Lytton family for over 500 years it is a Tudor Gothic mansion and today is home to the current Lytton descendants The Hon. Henry and Martha Lytton Cobbold and their two children. The grounds at Knebworth encompass 250 acres with a more formal garden and larger park area, the formal gardens were redesigned by architect Sir Edwin Lutyens, who married into the Lytton family, as a series of rooms each with its own character, colour and flowering period including Rose Garden, Green Garden, Gold Garden, Sunken lawn with pollarded limes, Brick Garden to name but a few. The stunning parkland includes a children's play area, miniature railway, deer park and a Dinosaur Trail with seventy two life-sized dinosaurs within the redwoods and rhododendrons, a great day out for young and old. In more recent years since 1974 the mansion grounds have been used for concerts, most notably Oasis in 1996 and Robbie Williams in 2003. We have frequently visited the charming village to carry out structural building surveys.
The Datchworth area of Knebworth has some larger properties and there are many Listed buildings including The Gardeners Lodge in Old Knebworth Lane originally built in the 17th century with later amendments and Lytoon Almshouses in Park Lane built in 1836.
If you are planning to book a building survey on a property you are purchasing in Knebworth or the surrounding area then we would like to assure you that we always send a suitably qualified and experienced surveyor to carry out the job. This ensures that you get expert advice on any issues that we may find with the property we are surveying. All our surveyors are members of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors - RICS - and are Independent Building Surveyors. Being 'independent' means that they are working for you and you alone; they do not work for a mortgage company or an estate agents, so they have your best interests at heart.
All our survey contain lots of images, clearly showing any problems that we have identified at the property such as woodworm, rising damp or cracking to the walls. We also use sketches in our survey which are aimed at helping you to understand how certain areas are constructed or to help show more clearly a problem that we have identified. You will also find lots of definitions of any building terminology that we may use in our survey, as we firmly believe in 'Plain English' and really want you to fully understand what we are saying in the survey report.
