We carry out residential structural survey and commercial survey in Maidstone. Maidstone is a town which is situated in Kent.
Leave the M25 at junction 3 joining the M20 then travel on this motorway until junction 6 to join the A229 and you will find the Kent large town of Maidstone. The town is surrounded by Chatham and Gillingham to the north, Staplehurst to the south with Sevenoaks to the west and Sittingbourne to the east.
Maidstone is not far from Leeds Castle which we always find interesting originally being from the North of England, it is said to be one of the most beautiful castles in England . Maidstone was the home of a large brewery which is no longer a brewery – Whitbread – and Fremlins beer and also their Shire horse collection where there is a history of brewing which we believe is still there. I can remember visiting the old brewery which was located right in the centre of the town, as so many are, and was told a story by one old surveyor about how they had to have wooden cobbles as opposed to stone cobbles to cut the noise down of the horses that pulled the drays in the morning, how true this is or whether it was a rumour I will never know.
The town has the River Medway at its heart with the delightful and scenic Millennium River Park where you can walk along the riverside enjoying the scenery. Whilst by the river there is a wonderful medieval building complex All Saints Conservation Area where you can see the beautiful All Saints Church said to be one of the grandest perpendicular churches in England , the Kentish ragstone built Archbishop's Palace and a fantastic collection of horse drawn vehicles at The Tyrwhitt-Drake Museum of Carriages.
Maidstone has a wealth of shops for those wishing to enjoy some retail therapy from the indoor centre The Mall Chequers off King Street to the charming historic streets with independent retailers such as Bank Street , Gabriel's Hill or the Royal Star Arcade.
We have carried out many residential and commercial building surveys in the town over the years and note some substantial residences in the surrounding areas of East Farleigh , Barming, Otham, Linton, Harrietsham and Langley for example. Within the town itself there are some larger detached properties in roads such as Walnut Tree Lane and Tonbridge Road.
If you are planning to book a building survey on a property you are purchasing in Maidstone or the surrounding area then we would like to assure you that we always send a suitably qualified and experienced surveyor to carry out the job. This ensures that you get expert advice on any issues that we may find with the property we are surveying. All our surveyors are members of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors - RICS - and are Independent Chartered Building Surveyors. Being 'independent' means that they are working for you and you alone; they do not work for a mortgage company or an estate agents, so they have your best interests at heart.
All our survey contain lots of images, clearly showing any problems that we have identified at the property such as woodworm, rising damp or cracking to the walls. We also use sketches in our survey which are aimed at helping you to understand how certain areas are constructed or to help show more clearly a problem that we have identified. You will also find lots of definitions of any building terminology that we may use in our survey, as we firmly believe in 'Plain English' and really want you to fully understand what we are saying in the survey report.
