We carry out residential structural survey and commercial survey in Wheathampstead. Wheathampstead is a town which is situated in Hertordshire.
Heading north from Hatfield leaving the A1(M) at junction 4 joining the B653 towards Harpenden is the Hertfordshire village of Wheathampstead. The village has some delightful old buildings including Guelders, Gustard Wood which was built in 1821 by Richard Kilby, the white painted Inez Cottage in Lower Luton Rd which was originally named the Red House and was built in 1790 for the nurse of the owners of Wheathampstead House, later being named Inez in memory of the Earl of Cavan's wife, the Bull public house dates back to the 13th century with its tall chimneys, the Victorian Crinkle Crankle Walls at the eastern and western boundaries of the Old Rectory and the Victorian Gothic brick and flint Old School on Bewhouse Hill.
To the west of the village is Devil's Dyke which is a massive ditch thought to date back to 40BC and occupied by the Catuvellanuni tribe who it is said were defeated by Julius Caesar in 54BC and as a child we can remember going on a school trip there and seeing if we could run from the top of one side and all the way back up the other side!
We have often carried out structural building surveys in the area and note it is popular with commuters due to its good road and rail links.
There is a variety of styles and ages of properties in the area with a modern development of detached properties in Butterfield Rd and some spacious attractive dwellings in Palmerston Drive.
If you are planning to book a building survey on a property you are purchasing in Wheathampstead or the surrounding area then we would like to assure you that we always send a suitably qualified and experienced surveyor to carry out the job. This ensures that you get expert advice on any issues that we may find with the property we are surveying. All our surveyors are members of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors - RICS - and are Independent Chartered Building Surveyors. Being 'independent' means that they are working for you and you alone; they do not work for a mortgage company or an estate agents, so they have your best interests at heart.
All our survey contain lots of images, clearly showing any problems that we have identified at the property such as woodworm, rising damp or cracking to the walls. We also use sketches in our survey which are aimed at helping you to understand how certain areas are constructed or to help show more clearly a problem that we have identified. You will also find lots of definitions of any building terminology that we may use in our survey, as we firmly believe in 'Plain English' and really want you to fully understand what we are saying in the survey report.
