We carry out residential structural survey and commercial surveys in Wymondham. Wymondham is a town which is situated in Norfolk.
1st Associated Inderpendent Surveyors are often in Wymondham carrying out both Residential and Commercial Building Surveys. Wymondham is a market town in South Norfolk located just off of the A11 and only 9 miles from the Cathedral City of Norwich.
Famous for its beautiful Abbey the town has many other places of interest to see. Our Surveyors were keen to see the Abbey itself was originally a Benedictine Priory but is now the Anglican Parish Church.
The Market Cross rebuilt in 1617, after the Great Fire of Wymondham destroyed the original, cost £25 to build. In 1989 it needed restoration work costing £95,000! On market days you will find local ladies selling homemade cakes and jams under the market cross. Nothing beats carrying our Residential Building surveys in a beautiful historic town such as Wymondham for our Surveyors.
Whilst in Wymondham providing building Surveys and home buyer reports our Surveyors learned about the town's history with a local hero, Robert Kett, famous for starting a rebellion against the King to protest against the enclosing of local common land. Sadly he was eventually defeated by the Kings armies and hanged (slowly) at Norwich Castle . If you travel from Wymondham to Hethersett you can still see the oak tree, now named Ketts Oak, where Ketts supporters used to meet. There are other dedications to Robert Kett in the town included the sports and recreational area, Ketts Park . Our Surveyors are always interested to find out about the history of the towns they provide Building Surveys for.
Today Wymondham has a plentiful supply of shops, pubs, restaurants and coffee shops and on a Friday there is a market in the town centre near to the market cross. Every third Saturday the farmers market comes to town and you can sample all the local delicious food and drink. Our Surveyors particularly enjoyed the hot spiced apple juice that they sampled on a cold frosty day after carrying out building surveys in the area.
One of the pubs in the town, The Green Dragon, dates from the 15th century and is a beautiful timbered building. Well worth a visit for a drink and a meal.
Wymondham's train Station has previously won the Anglia Station in Bloom competition. There is also a themed bistro in the station with part of it designed as a train carriage. At the end of the day our Surveyors always enjoy sampling the local produce and the friendly hospitality on offer in Wymondham.
Wymondham has recently had many new houses built on the outskirts of the town with the Whispering Oaks development just off of Tuttles Lane and near to the Waitrose roundabout and there is a further development due to be built by Persimmon Homes in the near future on Norwich Common Road.
Our Surveyors also provide Home Buyer Reports and House Surveys in the surrounding villages such as Spooner Row, Hethersett, Barnham Broom and Hethel (home of the Lotus Cars Company).
If you are planning to book a building survey on a property you are purchasing in the Wymondham Area or the surrounding area then we would like to assure you that we always send a suitably qualified and experienced surveyor to carry out the job. This ensures that you get expert advice on any issues that we may find with the property we are surveying. All our surveyors are members of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors - RICS - and are Independent Building Surveyors. Being 'independent' means that they are working for you and you alone; they do not work for a mortgage company or an estate agents, so they have your best interests at heart.
All our survey contain lots of images, clearly showing any problems that we have identified at the property such as woodworm, rising damp or cracking to the walls. We also use sketches in our survey which are aimed at helping you to understand how certain areas are constructed or to help show more clearly a problem that we have identified. You will also find lots of definitions of any building terminology that we may use in our survey, as we firmly believe in 'Plain English' and really want you to fully understand what we are saying in the survey report.
