The East Midlands Airport is over towards Grantham and the Humberside Airport is between Scunthorpe and Grimsby
Lincolnshire was mainly an agricultural area until the Second World War when flatness and closeness to Europe led to approximately forty Royal Air Force bases being established in the county.
The M1 and the M18 run along the west of Lincolnshire, the A1 running through it north to south passing through Stamford, Grantham, Newark on Trent leading on over towards Doncaster. The A15 goes from Scunthorpe through Lincoln , Sleaford, Bourne and towards Peterborough . There aren't that many major roads around this mainly rural county.
