Addington
Addington in the London Borough of Croydon is a small village.
The grand Addington Palace', once a country retreat for the Archbishops of Canterbury and also the place where King Henry Vlll and Anne Boleyn began their courtship is set in 163 acres and has a history dating back over 600 years. The Palace is today a Country Club' and is the setting for many weddings and corporate and private functions. The Palace also has a golf course in the grounds.
St Marys Church' in Addington is grade l listed and is the final resting place for five former Archbishops of Canterbury.
The well-kept Spring Park' is a lovely green space in Addington used by many and is a great spot to take a break when we are surveying properties in the area.
Kingswood' on the edge of Addington is a great place to visit to be close to nature. The wood has some interesting wild and plant life.
Addiscombe
Addiscombe is a mainly residential area in the London Borough of Croydon and was completely rural until the 18 th century.
Addiscombe has a small selection of shops and a few pubs although busy Croydon is nearby and caters for every need.
Coulsdon
Leafy Coulsdon in the London Borough of Croydon is a mixture of old and new and has history dating back to the Anglo Saxon times.
The beautiful Coulsdon Manor', set in 140 acres of parkland was built in the 1850's and is today a lovely country house hotel with an 18 hole golf course.
St Johns Church' in Old Coulsdon is grade l listed and was built in the late 13 th century. The building was extended in 1958.
Coulsdon Common' is set in 127 acres of mostly woodland and has a great variety of trees and pond-life to be enjoyed by all.
Coulsdon has plenty of pubs, bars and restaurants and also a good selection of shops.
Croydon
Croydon, once a medieval market town is a buzzing place just 20 minutes by rail from central London and is a place where we have carried out many residential and commercial building surveys.
Croydon has great shopping in the Whitgift Centre', a fantastic indoor shopping centre and is also home to the colourful Surrey Street Market' which is full of atmosphere and a great place to visit. There are also many restaurants, pubs and nightclubs here.
The former Palace of Croydon' with its amazing Great Hall, Guard Room, Chapel and the bedroom used by Elizabeth l is now the home of the independent Old Palace of John Whitgift School'. Guided tours are offered out of school time.
The Croydon Clocktower', a venue for the arts was built in 1895 as Croydon's Town Hall. Today the complex is home to the Croydon museum, art galleries, a library, cinema and Braithwaite Hall' with its grade ll listed interior which is used for live performances, weddings and other special occasions.
Fairfields Hall', home of the London Mozart Players opened here in 1962 and is an arts centre which has a concert hall, theatre, the Arnhem Gallery' civic hall and an art gallery. Names such as The Beatles, Status Quo and Coolio have all played here.
Kenley
Kenley is a desirable place to live in the London Borough of Croydon and is a place where we often carry out building surveys.
Kenley House', is a beautiful manor house set in over two acres. The grounds are home to The Kenley House Oak', an oak tree that is over a thousand years old.
Kenley Common', set in 139 acres is a lovely green' area full of some amazing wildlife.
Kenley Aerodrome' was in World War l a station for the Royal Flying Corps and in World War ll the RAF. Today it is used mainly for gliding.
Norbury
Norbury is a growing area in the London Borough of Croydon.
Norbury has a choice of good quality shops with more opening all the time.
Norbury Hall' is probably one of the oldest buildings here, built in 1802 it is a Grade ll listed building which is today a residential care home.
Norbury Park' is where many locals go to enjoy the great outdoors'.
Sanderstead
Sanderstead is in the London Borough of Croydon.
All Saints Church' in Sanderstead is one of the oldest churches in the parish and has beautiful stained glass windows and some lovely carvings.
Sanderstead Hill was once the home of Ruth Ellis, the last woman to be executed in the UK.
Selhurst
Selhurst is well known as being the home of The Crystal Palace Football Club' based at Selhurst Park Stadium. The club was formed in 1905.
The BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology' is also here and is the UK's only free performing arts school for 14 19 year olds. Leona Lewis' and Adele' were both former students at the school.
Shirley
Shirley is a mainly residential area in the London Borough of Croydon and has a good mixture of housing from modern apartments to five bedroomed detached houses from the 18 th century and is a place we have carried out many residential building surveys.
Shirley Windmill' is the only windmill in the borough and is Grade ll listed.
South Norwood
South Norwood is an urban area in the London Borough of Croydon and is a popular place with commuters due to its lower housing prices.
South Norwood Country Park', is a popular bird-watching site where you may spot Mallards, Pheasant and Skylarks to name but a few. The park also has wild flower meadows, a children's playground and a visitor's centre. The park is also used by many cyclists.
Thornton Heath
Thornton Heath is a very multicultural area in the Borough of Croydon and is popular with commuters.
Thornton Heath hosts an annual Festival', a fun day for all to enjoy.
Waddon
Waddon is situated just outside of Croydon centre and is home to Waddon Ponds', a lovely place to visit where you will find as well as the ponds, an ornamental garden and children's playground.
