Where in London is Havering?
The Havering area is in North London, or to be more accurate, North East of Central London.
We carry out surveys, structural surveys and building surveys on all sorts of buildings all over London and we have carried out lots in the Havering area.
A bit further afield
Surrounding and neighbouring areas include Newham, Basildon, Brentwood and Loughton. Havering is like many London suburbs, made up of many areas, or London villages for want of a better term. These include areas of Harold Hill, Collier Wood, Hornchurch, Upminster, Rush Green and Goodmayes.

Ways to travel in the Havering area
By road
As with most areas of London there is a good road system, with the duel carriageway on the A12 and M25 providing access in and out of parts of Havering, which also goes past the South East and East of London.
By rail and tube
It has the following rail links and tube links provided by railway trains. The Underground District line, the London Tilbury and South End railway and the Great Eastern Main Line.
This area is also covered by the excellent Google Street View, where you can literally walk along the road.

Havering has the lowest rates in London for unemployment (more than 7000 businesses are here).

We have heard that Havering is one of the more peaceful London Boroughs, we don't know who started that rumour. It contains a range of houses, including Victorian Edwardian and Post war houses, ex council areas and a range of modern flats and developments of recent years.

We have just remembered one other thing about Havering and that is it is London 's third largest borough! It contains 11,227 hectares, and a population of 224,248. It has an area of green belt which is 6000 hectares, half of that is based in green parks.

The name Havering appears in documents as far back as the 12 th Century
King Edward the Confessor once occupied the royal house in Havering atte Bower.
London Borough of Havering was created in 1965.
Famous people that were born, have lived, or are living in Havering
There are some famous residents and ex-residents of the Havering area, mainly because it is a nice place to live! We also heard a rumour that Richard Madeley, from the Richard and Judy show, lived here.
Famous buildings we have not surveyed!
There are many good buildings in Havering, which are all worth a visit and show of tremendous design that provides in an insight into traditional materials and workmanship used. These include Havering Palace and Romford Shopping Centre.
Unfortunately we haven't been able to come up with any other really famous buildings in the Havering area, so anyone who knows any please phone or e-mail us, we are sure we can sort out some sort of prize.
We would add that as with many areas of London it has a mass of Victorian and Georgian houses, which may up the majority of the housing stock in the area, with some newer developments for the after war building took place, replacing bomb damaged houses and some housing with 1960 post-war built houses. We are more than happy to carry out building surveys, structural surveys, engineers reports on these properties to give you a clear idea of any problems that you may be buying when you buy your new house.
Things to do in Havering
There are three country parks such as Havering country park, (has an air balloon and riding location), Hornchurch country park (excellent for birdwatchers) and Bedford Park .
There is also the Romford Market (more than 750 years old) where you can get a hold of antiques, bric a brac and fabric; good shopping!
