Driving around the area surveying properties in West Sussex we come across lots of small villages and travelling around the area is important to know the following incoming roads A27, A3, A29, A31 and A32 and M27 is not too far away to the West and more to the North is the M23, there is a good railway system into London and you always have the option of flying out using Shoreham and Gatwick airports. The West Sussex picturesque village of Billingshurst is surrounded by the towns of Cranleigh to the North, Horsham to the East, Abingworth to the South and Midhurst to the West, situated just off the A272 and A29. Huxley's Birds of Prey Centre which is near Billingshurst is a sanctuary which has about 70 Birds of Prey which include Eagles and Hawks, at the centre you can hold the birds of prey and you take a stroll around the gardens surrounding the centre which has amazing tropical plants. There is also The Wey and Arun Canal which was opened in 1816 and is currently under construction which is a pleasant place to take a walk and see the scenery at the end of a busy day carrying out structural surveys on both residential and commercial properties in the area. One old building in Billingshurst which must be seen if you are interested in 18th century religious buildings is Billingshurst Unitarian Chapel in the High Street which was built in 1754 for General Baptists and is one of the oldest places of worship for Nonconformists. The building is a delightful brick built cottage of the Georgian Vernacular style, single storey with a gable headed porch and is Grade II Listed and has been extended and altered over the years.
